Hello Big Red Quilters’ Guild members & blog followers! I hope your summer is going wonderfully (even with the rather flaky weather).
I’d like to remind you that we have a great class scheduled for Tuesday, June 26th. Sue Pawlowski of Jack Squares Studio will teach us a new way to construct hexies in the Oliver quilt class. You can find a picture of Oliver at her web site in the pattern section.
There is an option to make a throw, a baby quilt or a table runner in this class that runs from 9 am to 1 pm. I’m really excited because I purchased some grunge fabrics and can’t wait to see how they look in this pattern! You can put the 9 patches in the center of the ‘olives’ as the picture shows or use something else. Some of the board members are going to fussy cut from a printed fabric for those centers. I’m undecided but might just use a plain gray that matches my outside edges of my runner. Either way, it’s going to be fun and interesting! This would make a great gift; young people love the more modern quilts.
Templates can be shared so get with a friend and decide which quilt you want to make!
The guild has to pay for 15 spots, we have room for 20 and only have 8 signed up! I do
hope you have just forgotten to sign up and will consider doing so as soon as possible. Questions about the class can be directed to Kathy Ryzenga, and forms with payment should be mailed to Becky Stevens at the address on the form. You can find the forms at our website on the forms page.
Hope to see you at class on June 26th!!
