Members approved the Holland Police Department as the recipient of our charity quilts for the coming year.  They will go to those rescued from human trafficking, as well as to children removed from accident or domestic abuse situations.

Ann Prins was the raffle winner of a basket of sewing items put together by board members, for those who renewed their annual dues before the October deadline.

Kathy Ryzenga encouraged all to attend the November 27 Sew-In at Beechwood Lodge. The Program Committee will provide hands on instructions for making fabric postcards.  (No sewing machine needed and yes, they can be mailed.)  Refreshments will be available at 6:30 followed by postcard making at 7:00 pm.

Barb Sucher introduced the speaker, Linda Theilfoldt who wowed everyone with 45 quilts, 1 vest, 3 jackets and the marvelous stories behind them all.  Linda’s quilting is breathtaking and 20 local students will be learning her technique at the workshop to be held tomorrow. Our Facebook page contains photos of her work.  Google her name to learn more about her and her company, The Quilted Goose.  Linda has also started a charity project where quilts are made for people in wheelchairs.  More about that is available on her website as well.

Four women were recipients of door prizes consisting of sewing books, a charm pack, a Linda Theilfoldt pattern and a small zipper bag.  Thank you to the businesses and individuals who donate the door prize items.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 and everyone went home smiling.

Sally Zenas, Secretary
