Coopersville Quilt Show

Coopersville Farm Museum is having a quilt show!  You can find more information and coopersvilledirections (click on About Us) at their web site.  It’s about 30 miles from Holland.  It’s a really small show but very nicely displayed with new and vintage quilts and other quilted items arranged within the farm exhibits.  They have challenge quilts you can vote on, a kit you can purchase for next years challenge, a small gift shop and a table of quilt related garage sale type freebies.  As you can see from photo’s on their web site, it’s a great place for children and grandchildren!

Looking for something to do?

Last weeks unseasonal heat wave is behind us (finally) and comfortable temps are back. Yippee! And tomorrow is the first day of summer, which means a day trip here or there exploring the abundance our area has within a short drive.

In case you are looking for something “quilty” to do on a local level, consider making a day trip to Shipshewana for the annual quilt festival.  Beginning Wednesday June 21 thru Saturday June 24, the town swells with quilters from all over the country hosting the 2017 Shipshewana Quilt Festival.

This year, the men are taking over the festival.   Nationally known quilters Ricky Tims, Rob Appell, Jerry Granata and Doug Leko along with Mark Dunn owner of MODA will headline the show with years of experience thru daily lectures.  And those piano tunes by Ricky…..awesome.

The festival includes over 300 quilts, plenty of vendors, and all things quilty appealing to any style…….whether modern, art or traditional there is something for everyone. For more information check out their website:   http://www.shipshewanaquiltfest.com/

IQF Bus Trip Cancelled

Sadly, we have made the decision to cancel the bus trip to The International Quilt Festival April 8.  All tickets will be fully refunded.

The reason is simple…..sign up will not cover our costs. Although early feedback showed you wanted a bus again, the actual numbers do not reflect that, and to get a full refund for the bus contract we must cancel before March 1.

Any guild organized outing such as a bus trip, is offered to our members and public as a service, an educational and enrichment opportunity. That said, we must be good stewards of our memberships dues, therefore our bylaws state we must cover all costs thru ticket sales and everything we can to keep your ticket cost as low as possible. We regret this decision and any inconvenience this causes you.
